Parliament Monsoon Session highlights: Lok Sabha adjourned sine die; Monsoon Session ends on a sour note in Rajya Sabha
The Covid-19-marred Monsoon Session of the Parliament ended with the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha getting adjourned sine die. Speaker Om Birla said that the productivity of the Lower House during the Monsoon Session was 167% with 25 Bills passed and 370 issues raised during the Zero Hour. The Rajya Sabha saw major political turbulence with the Monsoon Session ending on a sour note, marked by protests and suspensions over the contentious Farm Bills. The session was scheduled to go on till October 1 but was cut short in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic.

Parliament Monsoon Session highlights: Lok Sabha adjourned till 6 pm tomorrow
Rajya Sabha on Tuesday passed six Bills including the Indian Institutes of Information Technology Laws (Amendment) Bill, Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020 and Banking Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2020, the Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2020 and the National Forensic Sciences University Bill, 2020. Chaos erupted in Lok Sabha regarding the Farm Bills as Opposition parties demanded the withdrawal of the Bills and led by Congress, boycotted the Lok Sabha session as they did in Rajya Sabha. On the same day, Lok Sabha passed three Labour Code Bills, The Jammu and Kashmir Official Languages Bill, the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, the Industrial Relations Code 2020 and the Code on Social Security Bill, 2020. The Monsoon Session is likely to end on September 23.

Parliament Monsoon Session highlights: Lok Sabha passes The Epidemic Diseases (Amendment) Bill, 2020
Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2020 and Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Second Amendment) Bill, 2020 were passed in the Lok Sabha on Monday. Rajya Sabha was adjourned after pandemonium broke out over the suspension of eight members -- Derek O'Brien, Sanjay Singh, Rajeev Satav, K K Ragesh, Syed Nasir Hussain, Ripun Bora, Dola Sen, Elamaram Kareem. The members have been suspended for the remaining part of the Monsoon Session following Sunday's incidents during the passage of two Farm Bills.

Jyoti Ram, 94, has been repairing and selling boots for decades. This week gave him some special moments to celebrate. His son Rattan Lal Kataria, a member of Parliament from the Ambala Lok Sabha constituency, was inducted in Narender Modi’s cabinet as a minister of state for Jal Shakti, social justice and empowerment.
