Second wave, serious concern
The second wave of Coronavirus infections that is sweeping through the country is of deep concern. The number of daily new infections is not only surging but is also doing so at a faster pace than during the first wave. On Saturday, India registered 93,077 cases over a 24-hour period to return to the top slot in the world with regard to daily infections. It is now in a worse situation than the US (70,024) and Brazil (69,662). With a seven-day rolling average of 69,000, India stands second to Brazil and is likely to go past the latter as numbers there are falling now.
