The current spate of violence that erupted in July has left over 300 people dead.

Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah Friday reviewed the progress of the operations launched by police and paramilitary forces against those responsible for the violence, Dawn News said.

They noted that the crackdown had brought some relief to people, with many shopping for Eid till late into the night.

The police have seized pistols, bomb-making material and ammunition from the arrested people.

"We have to restore the confidence of people, particularly of traders, industrialists and businessmen," Shah said.

Shah announced a cash reward of Rs.1 million for anyone who helps track down notorious criminals involved in the target killings.
