Freighter sinks off Taiwan during typhoon, nine crew missing

Taiwan's Fire Department said that search efforts are ongoing.

AIipei: Taiwan's Fire Department said on Thursday that a Tanzania-flagged freighter with nine Myanmar nationals on board had sunk off the coast of the southern port city of Kaohsiung during a typhoon and there had been no response from the crew.

Search efforts were ongoing, it added in a statement.
