Ranchi: Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for calling the I.N.D.I.A. bloc an "alliance of infiltrators", Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday asked the BJP why its governments at the Centre and states cannot act against illegal immigrants.
Addressing an election rally in Jharkhand's Mandu, he said the BJP was trying to grab power to plunder the state's coal and other mineral resources. He claimed that the BJP wanted to snatch power in the state but "no one can dare remove Hemant Soren".
“The BJP is eying Jharkhand's 'black gold' and seeking to plunder its mineral resources. Their intention is not the welfare of the people. The BJP talks about infiltration, and why can't its governments at the Centre and in Assam act against illegal immigrants,” Kharge said.
Kharge alleged, "Modi does not see the good things others have. He sees only two big people, Amit Shah. No one can speak in the cabinet. Only Modi can speak and Shah will execute the work. All powers are with Modi."
His comments came as Modi on Monday during an election rally in Garhwa alleged that appeasement politics has reached a high in Jharkhand where JMM-led coalition is busy in supporting Bangladeshi infiltrators while calling the I.N.D.I.A. bloc an "alliance of infiltrators".
The Congress president mentioned that Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswas Sarma, BJP’s election co-in charge in Jharkhand, has been raking up the issue of Bangladeshi “infiltrators” during poll campaign.
Kharge claimed that the number of BJP leaders arriving in Jharkhand is "higher than the total number of candidates" and it showed that it wanted to "snatch power from a tribal chief minister".
"PM Modi is 'jhoothon ke sardar' (captain of liars). He promised two crore jobs to youths but where is employment? Beware of those who will only indulge in loot," Kharge alleged.
Accusing the BJP government at the Centre of working for the "welfare of the rich", he said, "5 per cent of rich people amass 60 per cent of the country's wealth while 50 per cent of the poor citizens have only three per cent wealth. Modi waived Rs 16 lakh crore of the rich but could not provide any relief to the poor, farmers and Dalits...The BJP government has no right to continue in power at the Centre," he said.
