The 81-member Jharkhand Legislative Assembly elections are in two phases, dated November 13 and 20 respectively. The results will be announced on November 23.

BJP, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM), All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress, and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), are the key players in the state.

Congress, RJD and JMM are to contest in an alliance, wherein Congress will contest on 31 seats, JMM 43 seats and RJD 7 seats.

On this note, let us understand how many candidates won by a margin of 1000 votes in the previous Assembly polls held in 2019:

The Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2019 were held in five phases starting Nov 30, and the results were declared on Dec 23.

BJP's Dulu Mahato from Dhanbad constituency won by a margin of 824 votes (margin percentage- 0.5 per cent)

Another candidate who won by a slim margin of votes was Bhushan Bara, an INC ST candidate from Simdega constituency, who won by a margin of 285 votes (margin percentage- 0.2 per cent).
