Congress candidate Satish Jarkiholi continues to maintain the lead in the by-election for Belgaum Lok Sabha Constituency.
After 51 rounds of counting, Jarkiholi polled 2,65,391 votes. BJP candidate Mangala Angadi polled 2,57,984 votes
Congress candidate Satish Jarkiholi has secured 2,51, 910 votes. BJP candidate Mangala Angadi has got 2,42,008 votes.
After the initial lead, Congress candidate Satish Jarkiholi began to trail in the following rounds. Now, he has regained the lead in the 48th round by 9,596 votes.
After the 48th round of vote counting, Jarkiholi had polled 24,6468 votes. BJP candidate Mangala Angadi was trailing and had polled 2,36,872 votes.
BJP candidate Sharanu Salagar has won the Basavakalyan seat by a 20,904 vote margin against Congress candidate Mala B Narayan Rao.
As per the final figure, Salagar got 70, 566 votes.
Karnataka CM B S Yeddyurappa congratulated Salagar on Twitter.
"My heartfelt thanks to all the voters in the constituency who have blessed the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Basavakalyana Assembly constituency bye-election. Congratulations to Mr. Sharanu Salagara, our candidate who has won the confidence of the people of the constituency," said BSY.
Congress Candidate Basanagouda Turvihal has reportedly won against BJP Candidate Pratapgouda Patil in Maski assembly bypolls. An official announcement is awaited.
Accepting defeat, Patil has left the vote-counting centre.
The lead maintained by BJP candidate Mangala Angadi in the by-election for Belgaum Lok Sabha Constituency has receded as counting progressed.
Angadi's lead has comedown to 5,709 votes. She has secured 1,87,919 votes.

As Congress Candidate Basavanagouda Turvihal continued to increase the lead in the counting of votes polled in Maski assembly bypolls, BJP Candidate Pratapgouda Patil walked out of the counting centre.
Pratapgouda said the anti-incumbency factor is apparent in the constituency and the people of the constituency didn't give the vote for the BJP despite implementing several developmental works. The party leaders will introspect the reasons behind his defeat and will be abiding by the decision taken by the party, he added.

Election Commission of India conducted bypolls of Belagavi Loksabha, Maski (Raichur), and Basavakalyan (Bidar) on April 17, 2021.
A total of 22,68,038 voters (including service voters) were eligible to cast their votes at 3,197 polling stations in the three constituencies where voting began at 7:00 am and concluded at 7:00 pm.
Among voters from all three segments, over 11.37 lakh were men and over 11.22 lakh were women.
A total of 30 candidates are in the fray from all three constituencies. While Belgaum has 10 candidates, Basavakalyan and Maski have 12 and eight respectively.
