The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will try to form a government if the party candidates record victories in Kundgol and Chincholi bypolls, said BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa.
Speaking to media persons here on Sunday, he said, “BJP is poised to win both seats with a comfortable lead. In Kundgol, BJP candidate S I Chikkangoudar will win by at least 25,000 votes.”
Yeddyurappa said no BJP MLA would fall prey to the lures of Minister D K Shivakumar.
Former chief minister Jagadish Shettar called Shivakumar a ‘paper tiger’, dubbed as a hero by media. “Shivakumar was not successful in helping party leaders win their seats in and around Kanakapura and you (media) expect him to win a seat in North Karnataka,” he said.
