Mounting a major offensive on the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra, the BJP submitted a 100-point list to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari pointing out areas where the government failed to discharge its Constitutional duties.
A delegation of the BJP comprising Leader of Opposition in Assembly and ex-Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, state unit President Chandrakant Patil and senior leaders Sudhir Mungantiwar, Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil and Ashish Sheler called on the Governor at the Raj Bhavan here.
“We have submitted a 100-point list… The Chief Minister is silent… He does not speak and hence we urged the Governor to seek a report,” Fadnavis told reporters emerging out of the meeting.
He said that ex-Mumbai Police chief Param Bir Singh has accused Home Minister Anil Deshmukh of corruption and a major police transfers and promotion racket has surfaced. “There is no word from the Chief Minister. (NCP President) Sharad Pawar spoke to defend his party,” he said.
According to him, the three ruling allies Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress are together in the mess and corruption and described them as the “maha vasooli sarkar”.
He said that in the last one year, the MVA government has miserably failed in handling the Covid-19 pandemic. “Why are the cases increasing in Maharashtra only?” Fadnavis wanted to know.
He also said that the intelligence report that has surfaced tells all about what this government is doing. “Time will tell whether it is a ‘chota fataka’ or an ‘atom bomb’,” he said.
Fadnavis said the MVA leaders must tell whom they are trying to protect. “The Congress must tell how much cut they are getting,” he said.
