New Delhi: Jharkhand Munki Morcha (JMM) on Friday released its 5th list of candidates for the upcoming assembly polls fielding former state BJP president and minister Lois Marandi from Jama constituency.
Marandi left BJP to join JMM earlier this week in the presence of Jharkhand CM and party chief Hemanta Soren in Ranchi. She has accused the BJP of accommodating families of senior leaders in ticket distribution at the cost of party workers.
Marandi was denied a ticket by the BJP from Dumka, a seat that she had won in 2014 defeating Hemant Soren. She served as a minister in the Raghuvar Das-led BJP government between 2014 and 2019.
This time around, JMM has nominated Basant Soren, Hemant’s younger brother from Dunka, a stronghold of the party in the Santhal Division.
The party has so far declared 43 candidates for the upcoming polls for 81 assembly seats to be held in two phases in November.
JMM is contesting the elections in alliance with the Congress, RJD, and CPI(ML).
