Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil on Monday withdrew from the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly polls.

Rebel Congress leader from Kasba Assembly constituency Mukhtar Shaikh who had filed nomination as Independent candidate decided to withdraw his nomination and support official MVA candidate Ravindra Dhangekar.
Mukhtar Shaikh said, "I have decided to take the nomination back as an independent candidate. I had recieved calls from State President Nana Patole, in-charge Ramesh Chennithala and MP Syed Naseer Hussain. After their assurance, I took the decision and took back my nomination. I will also support and work for the MVA Candidate Ravindra Dhangekar in Kasba Assembly constituency." (ANI)
On Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren's proposer Mandal Murmu joining BJP, JMM Leader Manoj Pandey said, "There was a huge conspiracy which was thwarted by us. The conspiracy was to cancel nomination of Hemant Soren - that what happened in Surat during Lok Sabha elections, the proposer being kidnapped, brought to their side, made to give statement that they did not sign. We received information on time that a few people and a 'middleman' MP are working to get this done. So, we went for damage control. We can see a weakness of the BJP. If they can't defeat someone politically, they hatch conspiracy against them. But Hemant Soren decided to fight but not to cow down. People of the state stand with him."

Mandal Murmu, one of the proposers of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s nomination from Barhait assembly constituency, joined the BJP, party leaders said on Monday.
Murmu, a descendant of Sido-Kanu, who led the Santhal revolt in 1855, joined the party in Deoghar on Sunday in the presence of Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Madhurima Raja Chhatrapati, the wife of Maloji Raje Chhatrapati and daughter in law of Kolhapur MP Shahu Chhatrapati Maharaj, withdrew her nomination from Kolhapur North constituency for Maharashtra Assembly polls.
She was official candidate of Congress, which amended the list removing Rajesh Latkar. However he remained in fray as independent.
